So I’m home from college for the summer. It’s great to be back – but the process of getting my foxy ass home wasn’t the easiest or the most fun. I had *so* much to pack and throw out. By boy Moose was nice enough to let me store a bunch of my stuff in his basement near campus – thanks man. I always say that if he were to flail his arms around, it would be Loosey Goosey Moosey… and it makes me laugh every damn time.
So once I had filled my real luggage with stuff, I moved on to my little backpacks and such, and then moved on to just filling clear garbage bags with whatever was left. My boy Jon(seen here with some dope-ass liberty spikes just before we went to California Pizza Kitchen, where he got more than a few strange looks) helped me move my room furniture back to its original place, and raise the beds up back to how they were. He was a huge help in my packing. Rock brother, rock. Anyway, after he trudged his way out the door though a crazy pile of assorted boxes and crap, it was about midnight, the night before I was leaving. I thought packing would take a few hours. Turned out I was up til 6am. I went to bed at 6, woke up at 10, finished packing at around noon, and I was outta there. The drive home was long and boring just like it always is, but whatever. At least I’ve got the fuzzy dragon seat cover and spinning rims to make it more enjoyable.
Now I’ve been home for about 2 weeks, and it’s been pretty good so far. The place I usually work didn’t have enough work for me to have me there 3 times a week, so I’ll be doing some random stuff for them a few times over the summer. My new job isn’t half as good as that one. I’m working at an office about 10 minutes from my house, which is a huge improvment from my 2 hour commute to and through the city to my old job. I now work at an office that sells and distributes chef’s clothing. Weird, huh? Yeah, well, I’ll get an employee discount when I order a sweet apron with the To The Rescue logo on the chest. Then I’ll wear it next year at DU when I’m in our kitchen making frozen pizza or waffles or something. Awesome.
Ha, since I didn’t get anything off my wishlist for my birthday, I got some new stuff for myself with the little money I have. I bought a 17″ Samsung 172N LCD monitor. I had bought my 19″ CRT from Craigslist for $80(a sweet price for such a nice monitor) and just sold it on Craigslist to some dude for $100. What a deal! I basically got paid $20 to use a 19″ CRT for a school year. I loooove my new monitor. Great image quality, no ghosting, and it pivots from landscape to portrait… really sick. I got it on a crazy discount from Sam’s Club. That place is insane… for all of you that have never heard of it, it’s like CostCo – a big price club warehouse with huge portions of everything. I went with my parents because they needed some other stuff. When we left, our cart had the most random assortment of products in it, at crazy sizes, and across many genres. 12 fresh peaches, a 3lb can of peanuts, an LCD monitor, frozen pizza, file cabinets, milk, and an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner for my mom. I love this country.
I also got a 5.1 surround sound system from bestbuy.com – it is normally $400, but I found it on a crazy sale for $200 on the website. I ordered it and checked the site the next day, and it was $379! The sale was gone already. I was really lucky to grab it when I did. I love when that kinda stuff happens.
I’ll have new pictures of Auggie later today. Check back, Gees.
