Boo! Ha HA, I totally scared you ok maybe not at all. The last month (sorry about not posting) has been pretty crazy and now I will explain why. First of all, HALLOWEEN! Easily one of my top 3 holidays. What’s better than dressing up in costumes with your friends and getting candy for free? I say nothing.
Molly and I were trying to come up with good costumes, with the help of my boys Paul and Alden, we went through several ideas each. My original intention was to be Calvin (of “and Hobbes), and as soon as Alden got wind of this, he told Paul and Paul decided that he would be Hobbes so we could be a duo. I went an bought some basics – black pants (how did I not have blank pants?), and a bright red tshirt. I needed some kind of yellow spikey wig but we couldn’t find one. In the meantime, Paul was trying to assemble a tiger costume that would fit on his 6’3″ body. Not happening. So, we abandoned that. For the parties we went to on Halloween weekend, Molly and I went as a mafia couple, Paul as a jailbird, and Alden was the King of Djbouti. You heard me. Parties on the weekend were fun, and I’d have to say that the best (or at least most courageous) costume went to Jerry for his giant inflatable cowboy. Surely one of you Gees saw at least one of those at a Halloween party. After the parties, we went to a bar and shot some pool. I may have very little pool experience and not be very good, but damn do I look cool!
There was a big party on Halloween night at a club called Deadbeat. John O’Malley, the guy who threw the party, hired me to DJ the second floor. It was sick! He throws lots of DU bar parties and liked my DJ/MC style so he said he’d hire me for more parties next quarter. It’ll be sick to make some extra money playing some high quality underground hip hop to make everyone shake their booty. For that party, I was Korben Dallas (of The 5th Element) – my costume was kind of half-ass, but I had to rush to put it together.
Big news! Molly and I are going to England and Italy for two weeks around Thanksgiving! We both weren’t able to go abroad for a semester (it’s actually quarters here in Denver) like we wanted to, due to classes only being given at certain times, scheduling conflicts, etc. So, we’re taking a trip to England and Italy at the end of this month until mid-December. We’re taking a trip to our European motherland to celebrate Thanksgiving, celebrating why the pilgrims were so happy to leave our European motherland. It’ll be “Peet n Molly’s Ironic Trip Back to Europe Since We Left in the 1400s” adventure. Sounds expensive, right? Well, it is. Fortunately my mom is a travel agent so she was able to find us inexpensive airfare, and we’re staying with some of our international buddies that did a year here at DU. In England we’ll be staying with Matty, and in Bologna (Italy) we’ll be crashing with our mafioso buddy Francesco. I’ve also been asking all my friends if they know anyone in London or Venice that we can crash with. We’re trying to keep our trip as cheap as possible so we won’t be starving for the next several months. Because of this desparate need for cash, Molly and I have been selling a bunch of our stuff on Craigslist. Please take a look at our items and let me know if you or a friend are interested! We’ve put them all up at good prices so they sell quickly. A PS2 component hookup, electric guitar, and an iPod car charger are up right now.
