Sad Ninja slaved over a hot laptop for many months and finally finished our first feature film screenplay. After editing and re-editing and sharpening jokes and smoothing out story bumps, we got the script to a place that we thought it was screen-worthy and invited a dozen or so of our actor friends over to do a full read through to see what it would sound like coming out of other people for once. The response we got was overwhelmingly good, and lucky for us, a major producer was in attendance and soon after the read through, optioned our script with the intention to shop it to major studios for wide distribution. Who knows if it’ll ever turn into anything as Lady Hollywood is a fickle mistress, but it’s very encouraging. We’re shopping it around to financiers, lead actors and directors right now.
